Meet our Coaches
MBA Spring 2023 Coaches
Bob Ralston, former Head Coach of multiple College and High School Baseball programs, Moraga Baseball Association is thrilled to welcome Coach Ralston back for 2023. Ralston has Managed or Coached at every level of Baseball including Clayton Valley HS, Diablo Valley College, Cal State East Bay, the University of California and Chicago Cubs organization. Prior to coaching, Ralston was selected by Baseball America as a First Team All-American at the University of Arizona. Ralston played seven seasons as a middle infielder in the Minnesota Twins and Oakland A’s organization. Coach Ralston is currently assisting Saint Mary's College in addition to his work with MBA.
Coach Jonathan Pluth
Jonathan graduated from Concord High School in 2015 where he played four years of varsity baseball, earning first-team all-league three out of the four years for the Diablo Valley League. He went on to play at Los Medanos Community College in Pittsburg, California, where he started his two years at second-base, earning an honorable mention award and All-State Academic team his sophomore year. Jonathan transferred from Los Medanos to Mayville State University, North Dakota, playing his final two years for the Comets. At Mayville State, Jonathan earned first-team all-league his junior year and honorable mention his senior year, along with a conference championship his junior year with a 32-13 record. JP will be heading into his 4th year, coaching the 13U Maverick Team in 2023.
Coach Marc Goulart
Playing Experience
Coach Goulart is a former Division I starting catcher for Saint Mary's College of California. He played for the Gaels from the 2017-18 season to the most recent 2021-2022 season. Before his time as a college ballplayer, he was a four-year letter winner at Moreau Catholic High School (Hayward, CA) where he first made the transition to the catching position. He strives to develop the physical and mental talents of young ballplayers to be ready to dominate high school, college baseball and beyond. He coaches catching, hitting, and pitching to any age group.

Coaching Experience
Entering his first full-time coaching role this year with MBA, Coach Goulart has experience with all age groups. He has worked countless hours of summer camps with boys and girls from ages 6-16 in team and individual skill work. In addition, he has also coached 22-year old ex Washington National, Gio Diaz, to transition from middle infield to the catching position. Gio has just signed with the Glacier Range Riders, an independent baseball team in the Pioneer League in Montana.
