Meet our Coaches
Fall 2021 Coaches
We are ecstatic to announce that Bob Ralston, former Head College and High School Baseball Coach, has joined the Moraga Baseball Association 2021 Fall Ball Program. Ralston has Managed or Coached at every level of Baseball including Clayton Valley HS, Diablo ValleyCollege, Cal State East Bay, Cal Berkeley and the Chicago Cubs organization. Prior to coaching, Ralston was selected by Baseball America as a First Team All-American at the University of Arizona. Ralston played seven seasons as a middle infielder in the Minnesota Twins and Oakland A’s organization.
Coach CJ Doorn: CJ has played baseball for the Perth Heat in Australia, Contra Costa College in Richmond where he was an All-American, and was a member of the 18/U Australian team in 2009. CJ was also the Fresno Grizzlies bullpen catcher in 2010 for the San Francisco Giants organization. He has coached in both Bronco and Pony divisions for MBA. Leading the 14/U Mavericks to winning MBA’s first ever 680 League Championship in that age group in 2018.
Hal Marty: As a lifelong resident of the East Bay, Hal has been involved in coaching Youth Baseball for over 40 years. His experience spans coaching Little Leaguers through coaching High School and American Legion athletes. While experienced in all aspects of coaching baseball, Hal also specializes in outfield play, bunting and base running. Hal brings a unique focus to coaching baseball with techniques, drills and expectations that put players in a position to help their team succeed while earning playing time in very competitive environments. During his tenure as Assistant Head Coach at Campolindo High School the Team won a record 4 straight NCS Titles while sending over a dozen players to Division I, Division II and Division III College programs.
Coach Jonathan Pluth: Jonathan graduated from Concord High School in 2015 where he played four years of varsity baseball, earning first-team all-league three out of the four years for the Diablo Valley League. He went on to play at Los Medanos Community College in Pittsburg, California, where he started his two years at second-base, earning an honorable mention award and All-State Academic team his sophomore year. Jonathan transferred from Los Medanos to Mayville State University, North Dakota, playing his final two years for the Comets. At Mayville State, Jonathan earned first-team all-league his junior year and honorable mention his senior year, along with a conference championship his junior year with a 32-13 record.
Coach Max Luckhurst: (Varsity Head Coach - Campolindo High School) Max's legendary coaching career at Campolindo includes East Bay Coach of the Year, 4 straight NCS championships, and over 300 wins. Max joins the MBA Fall Baseball Program as a roving instructor, working with players and fellow coaches across all age groups.
