MBA FALL BALL 2010
Here's some basic information on MBA Fall Ball:
  • Fall Ball registration will be from July 15 to August 15.
  • The sole focus of Fall Ball is skill development.
  • The Fall Ball program will consist of teams from Orinda, Moraga, and Piedmont at the Mustang division and other teams in the Diablo Valley region for Bronco and Pony divisions.
  • While real games with real umpires are played, no standings are kept in Fall Ball.
  • For our Pinto graduates, Fall Ball is highly recommended for all players as the transition to the player pitch format can be a significant adjustment. We focus on everything in Mustang from stealing bases to dropped third strikes (at the appropriate times).
  • For our second year Mustang and first year Bronco players, Fall Ball is highly encouraged as it provides players an excellent opportunity to further develop position skills (particularly pitchers and catchers) and ease the transition to the next playing level.
  • Bronco and Pony teams will be formed as long as enough players sign up.
  • Mustang is for players born between May 1, 2000 and April 30, 2002.
  • Bronco is for players born between May 1, 1998 and April 30, 2000.
  • Pony is for players born between May 1, 1996 and April 30, 1998.
  • The season starts August 29 and ends on November 14. Each team will have one practice per week on Saturday afternoons and one game every Sunday.
  • MBA plans to have teams made up of 14 to 15 players per team as previous experience has proven that it is sometimes difficult to field nine players every weekend in Fall Ball.
  • Volunteer coaches are needed and are integral to the success of fall ball and the skill development of the players, so please let us know if you are interested in coaching!
  • Once signups end in mid-August, teams will be formed with our volunteer coaches.
  • Once the teams are formed in late August (hopefully a week before school starts), coaches will contact the players and have them complete an MBA release form and collect a check in the $125 for Mustang players and $150 for Bronco and Pony players.

No player will be allowed to particpate without having paid the registration fee
at the first practice on August 28.

Fall Ball sign ups ended on August 15. All players who wish to be added to Fall Ball can now only be added on a space-available basis. To make a request as a late addition, send an e-mail to fallball@moragabaseball.org.
Please note in your e-mail the division (Mustang, Bronco or Pony) you are signing up for
and your son or daughter's date of birth.
You will notified by August 22 as to team placement and other details.
